Day 3 in the camper, but who’s counting…. Since moving out is now done, I decided to tidy up our living space today. There were two pallets of block just outside the camper door that were not only ugly to look at, but attracted yellow jackets. This morning, I decided to build a retaining wall out of them to give us some privacy. Not a level, plumb, built correctly wall, but a half-assed ghetto wall. If you choose to sing along with the caption, be sure to do it in Cartman’s voice from “South Park”…. That’s what I was doing all morning as I moved block…
Had enough block to do a second, little wall around the A/C unit. So, here’s my second ghetto wall:
I learned that we had 4 different types of cinder blocks, all of varying weights and that yellow jackets really like pallets and cinder blocks. I also learned that Goof off kills yellow jackets faster and more effectively than wasp spray. We’ve gone through 6 bottles of wasp spray in three days, so I had no choice but to use an alternative. I may be buying Goof off instead of wasp spray from now on.
Also, I got this little hand truck to help with moving boxes and have found it ridiculously handy. It helped me move all the block to where I wanted it today and it folds flat for storage. Thanks, little pink hand truck!
I only got the pink one because the red one was $10(!) more, but now I kinda like that it’s pink. At least I don’t have to worry about the hubby stealing it!
Finally a little calm in my brain today. I even managed to take the kids to a movie this after noon and wax my eyebrows. Success! Maybe tomorrow, I’ll sleep past 6am!
I will have to remember about Goof Off. I LOVE the pink hand truck. I found a blue one which Bill laughed at, too…until we had to move some stuff around. Definitely a MUST have.
Agreed! It has been handy dandy!
I love reading your blog! I’ve always thought about what it would be like to live in our 5th Wheel too and have been very tempted to sell our house and do just that while we searched for the perfect house fit for us too.
Thanks Jackie! It is an adventure to be sure!
Dang, I wish I had read this a couple days ago when I bought wasp spray for my back porch! Now I know what the alternative is! You rock, Rella
